Declawing
Declawing is a surgical procedure that involves removing the cats entire first knuckle of each toe ensuring full claw removal. Throughout the years it has become a popular topic and has most recently been viewed as a barbaric and inhumane practice. Here at A Place for Meow we hope to educate the public on why we have a no-declaw policy and why we are against declawing.
Short term - declawing is a painful procedure, regardless of medications dispensed.Â
Long term - declawing leads to chronic pain and sometimes they stop using the litter box due to associating it with the pain they feel.
