About Us:

We are local to Rapid City SD and the Black Hills area; we strive for safe and healthy homes for all of our rescues! 

Stacy Stover (President) Stacy shares a deep passion and commitment to rescuing and caring for these cats and kittens. She holds a special place in her heart for senior and adult cats that require assistance. Having dedicated many years to rescuing and rehoming animals independently, Stacy has now become a valued member of our team.

Abbee Draine (Vice President) of Sturgis is passionate and dedicated to the care and well-being of the community's cats and kittens. Specializing in neonatal kitten care, she devotes many hours each day to nurturing these little ones back to health.

Amber McMillin (Treasurer/Secretary) has a heart of gold and is ceaselessly dedicated to helping others. Both by nature and profession, she's a caregiver. Her presence is a tremendous asset to our team, as she brings empathy, compassion, and an unwavering desire to assist in every way possible.

Haley McAllister (First Officer) discovered us serendipitously when her veterinarian suggested she might be of assistance. As a traveling nurse, she journeyed from Massachusetts to South Dakota. Her passion for kittens is well-known, yet her compassion extends to cats of all ages and dispositions. Even feral cats are no challenge for her; she endeavors to tame each one. Haley is an indispensable member of our team.

Lastly, we would like to introduce our newest member of the A Place For Meow board:

Teanna Aduddell (Second Officer) is a tremendous asset to our team. She brings empathy, compassion, and tenacity to our group. As a Vet Tech by day and a rescuer by night, her passion for caring for homeless and vulnerable kitties is unmatched. We are absolutely thrilled to have her on board.

Together we make an amazing team and with the help of our fosters we are making miracles happen within our community! Our hope is that one day, we will be able to have control of the stray and unwanted population and are able to keep up with the needs of our community.

Mission

We use no kill principles, TNR(Trap, Neuter, and Release) and education to save cat lives through rescue, medical aid, adoption and spay neuter in Rapid City, South Dakota and the Black Hills area. Our focus is to make a difference in the lives of all animals that cross our path.
